Advanced Forecasting
Introduces New Forecasting Service for the Materials and
Equipment-Components Market
Saratoga, California – June 28, 2004 – The Silicon Valley’s most accurate
forecasting company for the semiconductor and related industries today
introduced a new forecasting service for the materials and
equipment-components market. The service predicts the turning-points of
Underlying Demand for materials and components for Worldwide as well as
all the major regions. When overlaid on historical industry data of the
last 10 years, the forecast accurately predicted all cycles including the
onset of the 2001 recession and the following recovery.
“We
are pleased to be able to provide the semiconductor equipment and
materials industry with a service that is capable of assessing the amount
of over-heating in the market, which is crucial for determining the onset
of an impending recession,” said Rosa Luis, Director of Marketing and
Sales for Advanced Forecasting. “The service also has the distinct
advantage of predicting sales of company-specific semiconductor equipment,
materials, and related components product-lines with a forecast horizon of
between 4 and 10 months.”
The
off-the-shelf materials and components forecasts provide a 5 month horizon
of underlying demand for IC Units and Wafers sales. “This forecasting
service, like the rest of our portfolio, is based on quantitative models
that have predicted 90% of the major turning-points of the Silicon Cycle
without any retroactive modifications during the last 18 years,” added
Luis.
Advanced Forecasting will present a preview of this service as well as an
exclusive review of its forecasts for IC demand, wafers’ demand, wafer
processing equipment sales, and test and assembly equipment sales during
its annual “Forecasting Techniques for the SEM Industry” workshop at
SEMICON West, San Francisco,
on July 13, 2004.
