Advanced Forecasting To Announce Mid-Year Update to Semiconductor
Forecasts at Semicon West
Saratoga, California – April 20, 2005 – Advanced Forecasting will
provide a 2005 mid-year update of its forecasts for IC demand,
semiconductor equipment, semiconductor materials and
equipment-components, and wafers sales, on July 11, 2005 at Semicon West
in San Francisco, CA. The update will be provided during its annual
forecasting seminar, held at the W Hotel.
“We have an excellent track record in forecasting each of the major
turning-points in the silicon cycle for the last 19 years without any
need for retroactive modifications,” said Rosa Luis, Director of
Marketing and Sales for Advanced Forecasting, a semiconductor-orientated
forecasting house. “Those attending the seminar will learn some of the
techniques we utilize in our predictions, how to implement them in their
own companies, and will have the opportunity to question Dr. Moshe
Handelsman, the architect of the models behind the forecasts.”
Known for its unique non-survey-based methodology and accurate view of
changes in direction, the quantitative-based forecasting firm will
discuss implementation of forecasts into decision-making process from
the corporate level to the product line level, as well as how to
identify and predict the peaks and valleys in a company’s
products/divisions.
Still in the aftermath of the effects of the slowdown in the second half
of 2004,
predicted by Advanced Forecasting’s forecasts, visibility for 2005
remains cloudy. The seminar will teach participants how to improve that
visibility within their own companies and better plan for the cycle.
“To be prepared for the next turning-point, key decision-makers cannot
be influenced by extrapolations from qualitative sources such as
customers, sales departments, and analysts that rely on surveying these
sources,” stated Luis. Each attendee will receive a CD that includes the
presentation materials and software that will assist the participants in
analyzing their own company’s data for internal decision-making and
determining a forecast’s applicability to that data.
