Cupertino, California - October 27, 2003 - Advanced Forecasting Introduces Forecasts for Computers, Passive and Interconnect at NEDA Conference: Steady Growth, With Turning-Point in Sight
The Silicon Valley's most accurate forecasting company for the semiconductor and related industries, will introduce its forecasts for major products of electronic distributors at NEDA's Chicago Conference on Monday, November 3, 2003. The forecasts feature up to 23-month horizons for the computer systems, passive, and interconnect markets. According to Advanced Forecasting, the forecast for computers show that growth will be strong, but a turning-point will occur in 2004.
At a time when electronic distributors are still healing from the 2000 glut that brought a devastating recession, it is understandably difficult to heed the advice of any forecaster. However, Advanced Forecasting has commanded an envious track record during the past 17 years, accurately forecasting semiconductors and their related equipment and materials markets. Its precision stems from a unique quantitative set of proprietary models, which will be presented at the conference. Being aware of the turning-point forecasted for 2004 will allow companies to avoid the over-heated situation of 2000 and subsequent recession.
"I've followed Advanced Forecasting's methods for over ten years and have found them to be the most accurate and informative of any other analyst about the industry," said Craig Conrad, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for TTI, Inc., a leading distributor. "Reading their forecasts always gives me the impression that I am peering into the future".
Advanced Forecasting's Dr. Moshe Handelsman, a featured speaker at this year's National Electronic Distributor Association's (NEDA) Conference, will discuss the outlook for the electronic distribution industry and the reasons underlying the forecasting errors that contributed to the 2001 recession. Advanced Forecasting's nearly two-year forecast provides companies the ability to plan for impending market turns. "In order to avoid a repeat of this recession, companies need to be aware of when the next turning-point will occur, allowing a proactive approach to planning instead of reacting to a change in industry direction," said Rosa Luis, Director of Marketing and Sales for Advanced Forecasting. "We will gladly send a sample of this forecast and the correlation with actual industry data to those who make a request."
"Our services are currently being utilized by many companies within the semiconductor space and we are pleased to be able to provide similar forecasts for the electronic distribution industry," said Luis. "These forecasts, like the rest of our portfolio, are based on quantitative models that predicted 90% of the major turning-points of the Silicon Cycle without any retroactive modifications."
Advanced Forecasting offers quantitative forecasts of all ICs, semiconductor equipment (Front-End and Back-End), PCBs, Fab Capacity Utilization, Wafer Shipments, and DRAM ASPs. It is the only forecasting firm that has guaranteed its forecasting services with a full refund period since its inception (1986).
